Eyelids
One of the most common cosmetic surgery procedures is blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery. You may also hear it referred to as an eyelid lift or tuck.
Dr. Bluestein knows that a person’s eyes and what surrounds them greatly contribute towards his or her overall appearance. Changes in the eyelids most frequently lead to a look of being tired, worn-out, or aged beyond one’s years.
As we age, we frequently develop redundancy, laxity, and positional changes of the tissues which comprise the eyelids, the eyebrows, and other surrounding structures. As these tissues change, sagging and drooping of the eyelids may develop. Additionally, bags, bulges, depressions, and wrinkles may surround the eyes. These changes are not always limited to older patients, as some individuals inherit a predisposition towards the development of fat pouches at an early age.
There are several different types of blepharoplasty procedures, each designed to address a specific problem or problems. No single type of blepharoplasty is appropriate for every person. The cause of your appearance and your desired change determine which approach is best for you. Therefore, individual evaluation is always necessary.
Dr. Bluestein is trained to carefully evaluate your eyes and their surrounding structures, and can recommend the procedure which she believes is best for you. Contact us to schedule a consultation.
